The General Assembly in Genoa brought EUROPLANE Partners, Associate partners from the SEAPLANE project, external guest speakers and EUROPLANE consultants to the beautiful (if at times rather wet) Mediterranean port city of Genoa.
Besides administrative, financial and project management issues, the draft results for component 2, 3, and 4 as well as the state of EUROPLANE promotion activities were presented and discussed. (EUROPLANE partners can download the work component presentations reflecting the state of work from the restricted access section)
|Carlo Criscuolo (Tecno Engineering 2C Srl di Roma) talking about Ryanair's requirements towards Airports (IT)||Chiel Stutterheim talking about Ryanair at Groningen Airport Eelde (NL)||Hans Weiss talking about experiences with Ryanair at Friedrichshafen Airport (DE)||Dr. Peter Steppe (Infratil) talking about Ryainair at Lübeck Airport (DE)|
The highlight of the General Assembly were perhaps the 4 presentations from invited airport managers of "Ryanair Airports" Mr. Sirigu (Genoa Airport), Mr. Stutterheim (Groningen Airport), Mr. Weiss (Friedrichshafen Airport) and Dr. Steppe from Infratil (again, EUROPLANE partners can download these presentations in the restricted access section). All airport managers talked about their experiences with Low Cost Carrier Ryanair. They spoke about the code of governance of Ryanair, the requirements that are expected by Ryanair from the airports and the regions, but they also made a point on the advantages and problems that can occur in cooperating with a LCC.
Also presented was a SEAPLANE spin-off idea called "GANET" - General Aviation Destination Network and Web Site (click to download the presentation).
GANET shall support airports in developing their general aviation market by supporting a joint marketing / promotion platform on the internet. EUROPLANE partners as wekll as other regional actors or airports interested in the GANET concept are kindly invited to use presentation to present the concept to relevant decision makers, and to send any comments and statements they may have to Detlev Fischer (BMT Transport Solutions).Last update: 24 May 2007
